With the majority of our national football players participating in Noumea, the Fiji Football Association is still yet to confirm Christoph Gamel’s replacement.

The former national coach left the position in August this year and the Fiji FA says the search is almost complete for the ideal candidate.

The Fiji FA acting CEO Amitesh Pal confirms they have been seeking international advice from the Oceania Football Confederation in the hunt for a new coach.

“We are in the process of identifying the new national coach through the help of Oceania Football Confederation and the other stakeholders and maybe by the end of this year we would be able to confirm a coach for the Fiji team.”

Pal says many local and overseas candidates have applied for the position.
