Fiji 7s rugby assistant coach Etuate Waqa says the tendency of their players to lose focus at pivotal moments in a game is Fiji’s current downfall.
As the side trails New Zealand on the World Series points table, Waqa says it’s all going to be about learning to maintain 100% focus in their lead up to the final two legs of the IRB Sevens Series.
“We just have to iron out some of the errors. And I think the boys have to learn not to switch off all the time instead of switching on, switching off, during their focus in the field. I think those are some of the factors that can lift their game again before their game, the preparation in Scotland and England.”
The national side is taking a week break following their return from the Hong Kong and Japan 7s tournaments.
