FNRL works on development plan

The Fiji National Rugby League is setting a four year plan to develop local competitions and ensure more local players are part of the Fiji Bati squad in the 2021 World Cup.

Chief Executive Timoci Naleba says they are overwhelmed with the support from various stakeholders and it’s now up to our local players to prove their worth in local competitions to get a spot in the next world cup.

“Not only we going to see the result of each year but having to reflect and benchmark hat we’re going to achieve come 2021 especially with the intention of having to see more local players in the Fiji Bati team make up makeup.”

Meanwhile, forty-three clubs will compete in the Vodafone Cup which kicks off this weekend in seven zones around Viti Levu.
