FNRL wants more games in 2013

The Fiji National Rugby League is bringing the best league games to Fiji next year and this time it’s the NRL’s Newcastle Knights.

Fiji Bati assistant coach, Joe Rabele says this will be a good opportunity for the locals to show their talent and boost rugby league development on the local scene.

A Fiji Residents team will start preparing at the end of this month and coach, Rick Stone will be in the country to select a 25 member squad to face Newcastle Knights on the 2nd of February next year.

The Knights will be boosted with the services of Kevin Naiqama and Akuila Uate.

Meanwhile, Uate capped off a stellar year by winning the clubs’ highest try scorer award.

This is the third year in a row he has received this award scoring 18 tries for the Knights this season to take his career tally to 70.
