Expect the FMF Gymnasium to be closed between around the month of March and October next year for renovations.
Fiji Sports Council CEO, Litiana Loabuka says the renovation plans are still being finalized and they are still awaiting word from the project managers on the exact dates for the closure.
“We have scheduled to have that (FMF Gym) closed because Governments given us the grant to upgrade that facility. It hasn’t been upgraded since it was first constructed. We’re going to be working on that in 2016 so do expect some closure in that facility.”
The Government allocated over $2 million for the refurbishment of the FMF Gymnasium, the first renovation on the facility since it was built in 1979.
The upgrades include a new layout of the court as well as more office space for administration.
