Flying Fijians wary of set pieces

The Vodafone Flying Fijians rugby side is expecting the Maori All Blacks to target their set pieces when they clash in Suva tomorrow.

National coach, John McKee says set pieces has often been the downfall of the national side in recent times.

However, he is happy with a rapid improvement since the Northern Hemisphere tour last year.

“It’s going to be big. We’ve done a lot of work this week on our set play, building on from last November. I’m really pleased with how the boys have responded in that area to build on what we have done before. I think it’s (set piece) is in better shape than it was last November, where we did quite well."

Former Bulls coach, Frans Ludeke, scrum guru, Alan Muir and Crusaders assistant coach, Tabai Matson have been roped in to bolster the national side’s set pieces in preparation for the Rugby World Cup in September.

The Flying Fijians held their captain’s run this morning at the FMF Gymnasium and will host the Maori All Blacks at the ANZ Stadium at 3pm tomorrow.
