Flying Fijians trio up for captaincy role

Former Flying Fijians skipper, Netani Talei may be ruled out of the the team to tour Europe next month but coach, Inoke Male has three players in mind to lead the team.

The national 30-member squad was named on Wedenesday and Male says he is confident in the leadership capabilities shown by the trio.

“Setefano Somoca who led the team against Tonga, Deacon Manu and Leone Nakarawa are my top bets.”

Manu returns to the fold after a break from last year’s Rugby World Cup in New Zealand while Nakarawa and Somoca were instrumental in the Fiji Warriors Pacific Rugby Cup outing.

16 local and 14 overseas reps make up the Flying Fijians squad.

Matches are lined up against England, Ireland A, Gloucester and Georgia in November.
