Flying Fijians seal World Cup spot

Flying Fijians has sealed a spot in the 2015 Rugby World Cup after thrashing Cook Islands 108-6 at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

The hosts blew away the Cooks with 17 tries.

Blockbusting centre Nemani Nadolo and Adriu Delai scored a hat-trick of tries each with Nikola Matawalu and Metuisela Talebula grabbing a double each.

It was a memorable debut for prop Leroy Atalifo who scored a try in the 66th minute.

Also crossing the try line were Nemani Nagusa, Timoci Nagusa, Nemia Kenatale, Asaeli Tikoirotuma, Watisoni Votu and skipper Akapusi Qera.

Talebula also kicked a drop goal.

The Cook Islanders could only manage two penalty kicks.

The win seals Fiji’s spot in the 2015 World Cup and will be pooled alongside Australia, Wales, South Africa and another qualifier.
