Flying Fijians resume training

September 26, 2015 12:54 am

The Vodafone Flying Fijians have resumed training ahead of the Rugby World Cup match against Wales to be played on Friday.

Head coach John McKee says while there are many positives, they are also looking at fixing the weak spots.

“We emphasis to the players all the time that you must always play within the laws of the game. We have done some very good things in the games so far but also have had periods in each game where we are a bit below the high standards that we sat for ourselves.”

After two very good showing by the forwards at the World Cup, there are still areas, which team needs to improve on and in particular the discipline.

The team has so far copped two yellow cards in as many matches.

McKee and the brigade have not discarded the fact that Fiji is still very much in contention of securing a place in the last eight and work is continuing towards that.

Fiji plays Wales next Friday at 3.45am.

Meanwhile in a match played this morning, Argentina thumped Georgia 54-9.

Interesting matches are lined up for tomorrow morning with Italy playing Canada at 1.30am, South Africa face Samoa at 3.45am while England take on Wales at 7am.

You can watch the entire tournament live on FBC TV while live commentaries of Fiji’s matches will air on Radio Fiji One and Bula FM.
