The Vodafone Flying Fijians received a major boost for the Rugby World Cup in September.

After the 30-22 win against Tonga in the Pacific Nations Cup yesterday, the Fiji National Sports Commission presented a cheque of $200,000 to the national ruggers.

The money will be used in preparations for the World Cup in England.

Meanwhile despite the win against Tonga yesterday, Flying Fijians coach John McKee says there’s still a lot more work to be done.

“Things did not go our way today (yesterday) and certainly we have got a lot of work to do. We are in the early stages of getting the team together and with the few changes this week, we lost a bit of the rhythm but certainly credit to Tonga. They knew the way they could get on the front foot against us.”

In two other matches of the Pacific Nations Cup today, Canada plays Japan at 12pm while USA takes on Samoa at 2pm.

Fiji’s next match is against Samoa this Saturday at 12pm.
