Flying Fijians lead pool

The Vodafone Flying Fijians sits atop the pool standings in the Pacific Nations Cup following their 30-all draw with Samoa yesterday.

The Akapusi Qera-led side leads Pool 2 with 7 points ahead of United States and Canada.

Samoa also has 7 points to lead Pool 1 ahead of Tonga and Japan, but trail Fiji on the overall points table via points differential.

Fiji will take on Japan in their final pool game in Toronto, Canada next Thursday, with the play-offs to kick-off the following week.

The national side only needs to beat Japan to feature in the 1st and 2nd place play-off.

In other games yesterday, Tonga beat Canada 28-18 and USA defeated Japan 23-18.
