The Vodafone Flying Fijians preliminary squad this afternoon had its fitness test in Suva as coach John McKee works on naming his final team for the Rugby World Cup.
The test, which also included the medical for the players, will see the coaching staff go through the results and other factors before naming the final 31 players next Friday for the World Cup.
McKee says he was impressed with what he saw during the tests.
“I’m really pleased we’re back in camp. Fitness testing today, I’ve seen an improvement from the start of July when we got together for the Maori game. We’ve made good progress but now we’ll need to step it up again and I guarantee the boys will be fitter again by the time we leave on the 31st (August)."
The Flying Fijians will take on World Cup hosts, England in their opening match at 7am on September 19th and you can watch it live on FBC TV.
