The Fiji Rugby Union has implemented a loss of income insurance for the Vodafone Flying Fijians heading to the World Cup.

This was revealed by FRU chief executive, Radrodro Tabualevu, as the team gears up to depart on Monday.

Tabualevu says it was very important for them to incorporate this policy in the player’s contracts.

“And they are also covered under loss of income insurance. That insurance is especially very important and it is important that I highlight it. It is insurance that will cover their loss of income if something untold was to happen to them during the Fiji duties.”

Fiji takes on England in its first match of the World Cup at 7am on September 19.
