Flying Fijians gear up for busy season

June 30, 2015 12:54 am

The Vodafone Flying Fijians side is gearing up for a tough match schedule next month in preparation for the Rugby World Cup.

The national side will host the Maori All Blacks on July 11th at the ANZ Stadium before competing in the Pacific Nations Cup the week after.

Coach John McKee says this is exactly the sort of preparation the side needs before heading into the World Cup ‘Pool of Death’ against hosts, England, Australia, Wales and Uruguay.

“We’ve got quite a match program through July running into August, with a total of five games so that gives us a lot of games to play and really a good chance to hone our game plan in tough match conditions.”

A 40-member national squad will march into a three-day camp in Suva from tomorrow and McKee will announce his squad for the Maori All Blacks next week.
