February 2, 2016 5:10 pm

A Flying Fijian Pop up Bar will open this Friday in Sydney for the Vodafone Fiji 7’s team fans.

Fiji Airways, one of the sponsors of the team, is doing such a thing for the first time so that fans at the tournament get to experience the Fijians flair.

Company’s Public Relations Manager, Shane Hussein says this is an initiative to make it more interesting for the Fijian fans this weekend.

“The idea is for that bar to act as a headquarters for Fijian supporters throughout the weekend as there are a lot of Fijians in Sydney. Fijians who are fans of rugby and fans of 7’s and we expect a lot of them to track through. These fans are also our customers. They fly back often with us.”

The bar will be located opposite the Allianz Stadium where the Sydney 7’s will be held.

As spectators enjoy 7’s rugby on the bar’s big screen, they also get to indulge in traditional Fijian culture.

There will also be Fiji airways cabin crew present at the bar to ensure fans receive the best service.

Fiji will face Samoa in the opening match of the Sydney 7s at 12pm on Saturday followed by the clash against France at 3:18pm.

Fiji’s last pool game is against Argentina at 7:21pm.

You can watch live coverage of the Sydney 7s on Saturday and Sunday on FBC TV.
