First loss for Fijians in Australia

The Fiji men’s cricket team has suffered its first loss on its Australia tour.

This after the side was beaten in itsTwenty20 encounter against the Swans by 63 runs.

Winning the toss the home side elected to bat and the Fiji’s bowlers struggled to find a breakthrough and after nine overs, the Swans were 0-81 and looking likely to post a score in excess of 200 from their 20 overs.

However Fiji fought back well in the middle overs, and the fall of 5 wickets managed to restrict the home side to 5-167 from their 20 overs.

In reply Fiji was bowled out for 104.

Fiji will look to make amends in their final game against the Sunshine Coast Scorchers today, and will be boosted by the arrival of their Sydney based squad members Rabici Lesuma and Maciu Gauna, who arrived in camp yesterday.
