Financial constraints for Farebrother challenge

August 27, 2012 7:03 pm

Financial constraints has the Nadroga rugby team opting to play their Farebrother challenge games at other venues than Lawaqa Park, the traditional home of Nadroga.

Nadroga spokesperson Tiko Matawalu says hosting the games at Lawaqa is costly and after failed talks with Fiji Sports Council, there is no other solution.

He adds Nadroga also needs to look after the welfare of its players.

“We have made the decision based on financial constraints. We are looking at cheaper venues, which could be Prince Charles Park or Churchill Park. The Nadroga Rugby Union will be meeting to discuss what venue they should use.”

Ovalau pulled out sighting financial difficulties and now Northland has indicated taking similar steps.

The first round is this Saturday where Nadroga, the holders are playing Tailevu.
