Fijians in action in NRL

A number of players who could feature for the Fiji Bati at the 2013 Rugby League World Cup will be in action for their teams in the NRL in Australia this weekend.

Veteran Petero Civoniceva, who could lead the Bati, will start for the Brisbane Broncos against Gold Coast Titans on Friday night.

Sisa Waqa, the son of Fiji 7s assistant coach Etuwate Waqa, starts on the wing for Melbourne Storm against Parramatta Eels on Saturday.

Jarryd Hayne is still missing for the Eels.

Newcastle Knights will start Fijian duo Akuila Uate and Kevin Naiqama on the wings against New Zealand Warriors.

John Sutton, another who is eligible for the Bati, will start for the South Sydney Rabbitohs against the Illawarra Dragons, while Jayson Bukuya is in the starting 13 for Cronulla Sharks against Canberra Raiders.

On Monday night, Ashton Sims will start off the bench for North Queensland Cowboys against Wests Tigers.
