Fijiana qualify for Rio Olympics

The Telecom Fijiana side has qualified for next year’s Olympic Games in Brazil.

This as the side won the Oceania 7’s in New Zealand in style today thrashing Samoa 55-nil in the final.

Rusila Nagasau scored four tries for Fiji while Rebecca Tavo dotted down twice.
Fiji finished the tournament undefeated and did not concede a single point in 6 matches played.

Team player, Rebecca Tavo, who had an outstanding tournament, was emotional after the victory.

“We’ve been working very hard. We couldn’t wait for this moment. We’ve been waiting so patiently just to come out here and getting here. Nothing was going to stop us from getting here and doing the job. It means so much to the girls and Fiji.”

Meanwhile the Australian Men’s team have also qualified to the Olympic Games defeating Tonga 50-nil in the final.
