The Fijian Drua has gained it first official sponsor for the first season of the Australia National Rugby Championships.

Paradise Beverages Limited this morning signed a sponsorship deal for three months.

The Sponsorship includes branding of the Fiji Gold Beer on the sleeves of the jersey and the Ratu Rum logo on the back of the jersey.
The monetary value to the sponsor was not disclosed.

Fiji Rugby Union, Chief Executive, John O’Connor says this is an added boost for the team as they prepare for the NRC which starts next week.

“In terms of the support towards the NRC Drua team, considering that it is a three month sponsorship – the sponsorship also includes cash component and in kind.”

Paradise Beverages, General Manager, Mike Spencer says they are always keen to help in the development of sports.

“For forty years PBL has been involved in the development of rugby primarily through the sponsorship of the 7’s game but now we actually very proud to announce that we are now getting involved assist FRU in the development of 15’s side of the game.”

The Fijian Drua will leave our shores on Tuesday for Australia and play Brisbane City in its first match at 7pm on Saturday week.
