Fijian athletes reminded to aim high

July 12, 2014 12:12 am

The inaugural Fiji Athletes Forum is being in Suva today with Fijian sports people being reminded never to lose sights of their goals.

Former New Zealand Olympian Barbara Kendall was the guest speaker this morning, reminding Fiji athletes, they need not fear while competing at the international events.

Kendall says despite being from a tiny Pacific nation, it’s all about the best preparation to stamp a mark on the world level.

“Fijian athletes have incredible physical attributes. That sets them above and they have an advantage over their counterparts with the physical talents they have. Now they just need good training and coaching with international experience, which is very important to get that toughness within their mind to be able to compete because that is the last 10 percent.”

The workshop ends this afternoon.
