Fiji yet to be ranked in Oceania Football

Fiji Football Association Chief Executive Mohammed Yusuf says Fiji is yet to be ranked in Oceania Women’s Football.

Yusuf says with Fiji’s participation next week this is a chance for the women’s team to prove themselves in the competition.

“Only seven teams are ranked that is NZ Tahiti Cook Islands Tonga, Samoa New Caledonia and Papua New Guinea the other four countries Fiji Solomon and American Samoa are unranked simply because we have not been playing competitions under OFC in previous years.”

Fiji plays Vanuatu next Friday and Solomon Islands on the 27th and American Samoa on the 30th of this month at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

Meanwhile the Fiji FA named its 20 member national women’s team yesterday.
