Fiji women win relay gold in PNG

The Fiji women’s 4×100 meters relay team won the gold medal at the Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea.
The quartet featuring, Younis Bese, Elenoa Sailosi, Sisilia Seavula and Makelesi Tumalevu managed to edge out their highly favored rivals, PNG to the tape.
The men’s 4×100 meters relay team, featuring Albert Miller, Viliame Rarasea, Aaron Powell and Banuve Tabakaucoro settled for the silver medal.
The former-Marist Brothers High School quartet finished second behind the hosts, denying Tabakaucoro the chance to achieve his aim of winning four gold medals, settling with 2 gold and 2 silver medals instead.
This brought an end to the athletics competition at the Pacific Games.
Team Fiji remains fourth on the medal tally with 30 gold, 38 silver and 28 bronze medals.
PNG leads with 64 gold, 50 silver and 47 bronze medals.
New Caledonia is in third with 51 gold, 48 silver and 43 bronze while Tahiti has 31 gold, 25 silver and 28 bronze.
