The Fiji Weightlifting Federation will send their athletes to New Caledonia for one week as part of exposure through their preparation to the Commonwealth Games in Australia.

Fiji Weightlifting General Secretary Ritesh Ratiram says the lifters need to raise the bar if they want to achieve something at the Commonwealth.

“We will be sending our athletes to New Caledonia as part of exposure and to train with the rest of the team that are their already and get a feeling of a different environment and competition.”

Meanwhile, Fiji Weightlifting have submitted ten nominations for the sports award since they’ve had a phenomenal season last year.
