The Fiji under 23 football side drew it’s it’s first match against Vanuatu 1-all at the Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea.

The Fijians trailed 1-02 at the break but Nickel Chand equalized in the 63rd minute to register first points for the Juniors.

Meanwhile in other matches played today, New Zealand defeated the Solomon islands 2-0, while Tahiti thumped the Federated State of Micronesia 30-0 while hosts PNG lost to New Caledonia 1-0.

The Pacific Games will be officially opened tomorrow.
