Fiji Under 23 rugby league team to participate in Commonwealth Championship

The Fiji National Rugby League has confirmed their participation in the Commonwealth Rugby League Championship next month.

FNRL CEO Timoci Naleba says they are expected to announce the sponsorship in the next few days.

Naleba says going for the tournament is vital for the development of the sport and the players who were selected.

“We have confirmed that we will be fielding a men’s under 23 team it is important that we have this team because we looking towards the 2021 world cup and as we have said all along that part of the kalawa program is to breed young players now that can participate at the very competitive level.”

The Rugby League Commonwealth championship will be held on the 23rd and 24th of next month.
