Fiji U23 beat Phoenix Academy

The Fiji under 23 side defeated the Wellington Phoenix Academy 2-1 at the ANZ Stadium in Suva in the final quarter of their two-match series.

The Kiwis broke the deadlock in the first spell through James McGarry for Phoenix to take a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Fiji captain, Rusiate Matererega found the equalizer in the 54th minute before Savenaca Nakalevu scored another goal in the 80th minute for the home side to take the lead.

At 5:30pm, Roy Krishna will lead the Fiji senior side against the Wellington Phoenix.

A live commentary of that match will air on Radio Fiji Two with the voice of soccer, Raymond Stoddart.

The return matches will be held on Tuesday at Govind Park in Ba.
