Majority of the players selected  were part of the 2017 and 2018 Deans competition.

Fiji have replaced Japan in the JWC after winning the Under 20 Trophy in Romania last year and five members of that title success have been selected by coach Kele Leawere, including fly-half Caleb Muntz.

Current national 7s reps Vilimoni Botitu and Ratu Meli Derenalagi were part of the team that won the Junior World Trophy in Romania last year.

Meanwhile, the under 20 Championship will be held in Argentina from the 4th to the 20th of next month.
