The Vodafone Fiji under 20 has started its World Rugby under 20 Trophy competition on a high with a 53-34 hammering Uruguay.
It was a high scoring affair with 14 tries scored during the game.
Fiji managed nine tries with Saimoni Ulunikauvadra and Ratu Meli Turagaca scoring a double each.
Other try scores for Fiji were Viliame Suwawa, Ratu Meli Derenalagi, Lekima Nasamila, Caleb Muntz and Ilikena Vudogo.
Fly half Caleb Muntz converted five of the tries as Fiji displayed some brilliant running rugby to get the crowd on their feet throughout the game.
Uruguay on the other hand scored most of its tries through its set pieces but Fiji’s running game was just too much for the South Americans as the young Fijians ran rampant in Bucharest.
In other results Samoa thrashed Hong Kong 42-20, Portugal beat Canada 31-29 and Namibia crushed Romania 55-26.
Fiji next match will be on the first of September against Portugal.
