Fiji U20 finishes third in Oceania Rugby

The Vodafone Fiji U20s team outstretched an injury crippled Tongan side 54-0 to take 3rd in the 2018 Oceania Rugby U20s Championship.

Fiji took an early lead in the 7th minute courtesy of Nabetelevu Turaganivalu.

In a match that saw possession change hands often Tonga were not able to capitalize on their chances.

Head Coach Koli Sewabu says they have started exactly how they wanted to and they finished really well.

“We came here with the intention to expose the boys to a high level of competition, have a look at some of the areas that we need to work on as we prepare for the Junior World Tournament.”

Meanwhile, New Zealand have claimed their fourth straight Oceania U20s title, cruising to a 43-28 win over the Junior Wallabies.

While the Australians were valiant, it was a typical defeat to a New Zealand opponent.
