Fiji U20 finish 6th

The Vodafone Fiji under 20 football side has settled for the 6th spot in the President’s Cup in New Zealand.

The Ravinesh Kumar-coached side was thumped by Bodden Town of the Cayman Islands 3-0 this afternoon.

Bodden Town opened the scoring in the 28th minute after a lapse in defense in front of the Fijian goal-mouth allowed striker Rico Brown to knock in the opening goal.

The scores remained the same at halftime.

Bodden Town extended its lead in the second spell with striker Teron Wood thundering home a powerful shot for a 2-0 lead in the 52nd minute.

Bodden Town collected its third and final goal in the 63rd minute with Jonathan Airbanks at the end of spectacular goal from a set-piece.

Meanwhile, the 3rd and 4th place play-offs is underway between Singapore Under 23 and Busaiteen.

Auckland City will then take on Amicale of Vanuatu in the final.
