The Fiji Under-18 girls hockey team is buzzing with confidence ahead of the Youth Olympic Games in China.

The team consists of new and young players and the side is into its final phase of preparation.

Coach Tai Smith says the girls have been gelling well.

“I just keep on getting more and more confidence as the days move on with the attitude and I think in hockey one real big thing is attitude and these girls have come to the camp with the right attitude and the will to succeed. We know the country in relying on us to produce the results.”

The team is pooled with Argentina, Netherlands, South Africa and Japan.
The competition will be played from 16-28 of this month.
