The Fiji Futsal team will now play in the 5th place playoff at the 2019 OFC Futsal Championship.

This is after the side beat American Samoa 6-2 earlier this afternoon in the 5th to 8th playoff.

Iosefo Verevou, Filipe Baravilala, Bruce Hughes and Sahil Dave scored for Fiji while American Samoa conceded two own goals.

Fiji led 2-1 at the breather.

The national side will now play Vanuatu in the 5th/6th position playoff tomorrow at 3pm.

Meanwhile, due to medical reasons the Tonga and Vanuatu play-off match was abandoned.

Vanuatu progressed to the 5th/6th play-off by default.

American Samoa will play in the 8th place play-off tomorrow.
