The Fiji football Under-16 side will have a mammoth task when it faces Solomon Islands in the OFC Championship semi-final on Wednesday.

Fiji finished as runner up in its pool while the Solomon Islands qualified as pool winners having beaten New Zealand, Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea.

Fiji football coach, Yogendra Dutt says the one nil win over New Caledonia in their last group match has set the platform going into the semi-final.

“We talked about it that they would come firing because that team loves attacking so we saw their game and it will surely help us study our game too before the semifinal.”

Fiji plays Solomon Islands in the first semi-final at 9am on Wednesday while Tahiti takes on New Zealand at 2pm.

The final will be held at 2pm on Saturday.
