The Vodafone Fiji football side drew 1-all with Solomon Islands in their opening match in the Four Nations Friendship Cup in Vanuatu.

Solomon Island raced to an early lead in the 25th minute through Tutizama Tanito but Fiji drew level with a goal to Christopher Wasasala with 15 minutes remaining in the match.

Prior to this match at Port Vila Stadium, hosts Vanuatu defeated New Caledonia 1-0.
The four teams will play in a round-robin format with the next round to be held on Monday.
