Fiji Swimming team prepares for Oceania Championship

The Fiji Swimming team had their first assembly today at Suva’s Aquatic Centre in preparation for the Oceania Championship later this month in Papua New Guinea.

A total of twenty-two swimmers were selected from the school’s competition and few swimmers were retained from the national squad.

Head Coach Sharon Pickering says the side is well prepared and aims to bag medals.

“This is one of the biggest team that we’re taking away, we’re very fortunate to be able to do that PNG is going to be really exciting to go back there for the Pacific games and they have got a fantastic facility a lot of fast time were swam there so we hope to come back and achieve our personal best, making the finals and winning some medals.”

Epeli Rabua and Cheyenne Rova has been selected to captain the side.

The championship will be held from the 23rd to the 30th of this month.
