Mazey says the council has identified areas in Laucala for the new development.

With a hotel and multi-purpose complex centered in one area, it will provide convenience for international teams.

_“We see it in a Super Rugby tournament where you cannot get an accommodation. For the council to be able to offer better facilities we need to commercialize”.

He says Suva needs more accommodation to meet the high demand in sports tourism.

Fiji Sports Council Chief Executive Litiana Loabuka says there’s a real need for the development.

The Constructions of the multi-purpose sports complex in Laucala will commence once the final plan is approved.
