Fiji Mens 7s coach Gareth Baber is pleased with the performance of the new player’s at the Pacific Games.

Rusiate Matai, Fabiano Rogovakalali, Luke Lutunavanua, Uliano Cokanauto, Menausi Qiodravu and Suliano Volovoli were given games time yesterday.

Fiji defeated Wallis and Futuna 45-0 before thumping New Caledonia 47-0 and beating Cook Islands 21 -0.

Baber says it’s good that Cook Islands gave Fiji a good run.

I think the first two games we had pretty much our own way, sometimes it gives you a false sense of where you are in the tournament. The Cook Islands played a very physical game but we didn’t let it get to us. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Fiji will take on Nauru at 9.56am today.
