FBC Correspondent Nick Jordan says Fiji showed it was a more determined side.

“A very good display all across the park from Fiji, the defence was impressive, they won the restart better which is something they have been tasked to do by the coaching staff, between last week and this week, and several players stood out for them. To me the player of the tournament was Aisake Katonibau who was everywhere. He won all those restarts, his one handed off loads were terrific, his tackling was also very good and he created a number of assists for the rest of his players. Metuisela Talebula another great tournament from him, a try in the final which really sealed the deal for Fiji. And also Waisea Nayacalevu, very strong, very impressive and a real handful to every team they came up against.”

Fiji ended the IRB Sevens Series on a high note although it was not enough to secure the top position on the point’s table as they had to settle for second.
