The Fiji Rugby Union says it can’t change its team for the Youth Olympics even if the selected five players from Ratu Kadavulevu School don’t join the side.

With the team marching into camp today, the RKS players are yet to join camp in Pacific Harbor.

RKS players in the squad are Joseva Rauga, Ratu Epeneri Uluiviti, Timoci Meya. Filipe Nawabalavu and Filipe Qoro.

The players have not joined camp as their school principal Beniamino Tawake, claimed in the media that the students wanted to play in the Coke Zero Deans final next Saturday.

RKS is scheduled to meet Lelean Memorial School in the U18 final.

Fiji U18 manager, Sale Sorovaki, says they will have to make do with the seven available players as the rules don’t allow them to change the team.

He adds they have spoken to FASANOC on the matter and the only way to change a team is if a player sustains an injury.

The team flies out on Monday for China where the Olympics take place from August 16-28.
