Fiji ready for Japanese surprises

June 5, 2012 5:00 am

Fiji’s voice of rugby, Graham Eden says the Flying Fijians will be ready for any new tricks Japan may have during their Pacific Nations Cup clash tonight.

Eden is impressed with the leadership qualities of coach, Inoke Male and skipper, Netani Talei in preparing the side.

“Talei has shown a leadership, wisdom and do it yourself attitude I believe will be vital to the team, he was able to pass on his understandings of those rule amendments and I was impressed with that.”

He adds with former Wallaby coach, Eddie Jones coaching the hosts this season, Fiji’s local reps will bring some unknown surprises to Fiji’s game.

“We’ll be playing in the forwards, we have the tall timbers and the Japanese although they have tall players as the years go by, with Eddie Jones involved, we will see him inject something into the side that has perhaps not been in them before.”

The Fiji-Japan PNC match kicks off at 10.10 tonight and a live commentary will air on our sister radio station, Bula FM where Eden will bring you the action from Nagoya.
