Fiji ready for Dubai 7s

The eyes of the rugby world will be on the Vodafone Fiji 7s side during Dubai tournament which starts today.

The World Series Champions and Olympic Gold medallist enter the tournament as one of the top bets.

Despite the short preparation time, interim coach Nacanieli Cawanibuka says spirits are high in camp.

“The players are in high spirits. Everyone is fit and healthy and the boys are bursting with energy. We have been following our diet and nutrition plans and routines that we used in our preparations before Rio.”

Fiji’s first match is against Canada at 7.52pm after which they play Wales at 11.36pm.

The team’s last pool match is against Argentina at 4.48am tomorrow.
