Fiji bowlers continue to pose a threat against their overseas counterparts at the South Pacific Bowling Carnival in Suva.

Tournament chairman, Peter Thaggard says the local teams have made their way into the finals of the fours competition.

“I would rate Fiji’s Maria Patel and Sala as the top favourites. They play very well but also to look out for is Papua New Guinea who have caused some upsets."

Thaggard adds they have witnessed huge improvements from the local bowlers.

“Our locals are just as good as the overseas bowlers and it’s good we’re playing different people with different styles which provides some good competition."

Meanwhile, the women’s pair’s finals have been moved to 1:30pm on Saturday because of the unfavourable weather on Thursday.
