The Fiji Pearls not finish in the top 10 rankings in the Netball World Cup in Australia after losing to Samoa 54-51 this afternoon.

The national side got off to a good start, outscoring Samoa 16-10 in the first quarter.

This was to be the only time that Fiji outscored their island rivals as Samoa mounted a strong comeback in the remaining three quarters.

Samoa will now take on the winner of the Trinidad and Tobago versus Scotland match to battle for 9th position while Fiji will face the losing team to contest for 11th spot.
