The Fiji Pearls Netball side lost their first match against host Wales in the Netball Europe Open Championship.

The Welsh team led 31-18 during the half time break and widened the score margin in the last two quarters of the match giving them a 61-40 victory over the Pearls.

Fiji will face Northern Ireland in their second pool game today.
