The Fiji Pearls Netball team departed the country today for the Netball World Cup in Australia with the determination to win all its pool games.

Fiji is pooled with Wales, Uganda and Zambia and coach, Kate Carpenter says the girls are prepared for the tough challenge ahead.

“So our preparation has been good and particularly in this last month with the Pacific Games and the test matches in New Zealand. So all that really needs to come together and everyone needs to be on their best on every day.”

The Fiji Pearls are looking to improve on their current international ranking of 7th during the World Cup.

The national side takes on Wales in their first preliminary round match in Sydney on Friday at 1:30pm and you can watch it live on FBC TV.
