Fiji Paralympic hope to send team of 20 to the 2020 Paralympic

The Fiji Paralympic Association is hoping to send a team of at least 20 players to the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan.

Committee President Shaenaz Voss says they are looking at areas of development to increase para-athletic participation.

Development Officer Albert Miller says they will carry a programme to identify talent and scout more athletes.

“The sports that most of our athlete with disability is participating in, one is table tennis – Mary Rodin and the other one is athletics where nine of our athletes have been training in the sport of athletics. Majority of them are throwers, either they are seated or ambulant which is basically standing and throwing. Still looking for more track and field event – at the moment we only have one.”

Meanwhile, Paralympic Fiji received a $10K boost from Asco Motors today.
