A disappointing match for the Fiji Airways men’s 7s team as they went down to USA 24-7 in the first Cup quarter finals at the Sydney 7s tournament.
The Gareth Baber-coached side gave away penalties for the USA side which cost them the game.
Fiji made errors which they were penalized several times.
Fiji’s lone score came from Eroni Sau in the first half where USA led 12-7.
USA continued its momentum in the second half scoring another two tries to seal their victory.
The Fijian side will feature in the fifth place semi final.
In other cup quarter finals, South Africa is currently playing Kenya, Australia will play New Zealand while Argentina meets England in the last quarter-final.
The semifinals will start at 6.36pm while the final will kick off at 9.48pm today.
