The Vodafone Fiji 7s side is on track to secure automatic qualification to the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

The top four teams at the end of the series will automatically qualify for the Olympic Games 7s competition.

Coach Ben Ryan says his side will only need to reach the Cup quarterfinals to achieve this monumental feat.

“If we get to the (Cup) quarterfinals, then we’ve got our flight booked to Rio. Only four teams will do that and it looks like three might be sorted out by Glasgow and it was always our number one goal this year to gain automatic qualification and not get stuck in the repecharge or any playoff games. So to do it a tournament early would be great.”

The Glasgow 7s kicks-off next Saturday at Scotstoun Stadium.

Fiji is pooled with hosts Scotland, Wales and Portugal.
