Fiji finished unbeaten in the Digicel Punjas International Series, defeating the Papua New Guinea and Singapore side respectively last night.
The Punjas Fiji side, which had the services of Mere Neiliko, Maria Lutua and Una Rauluni defeated 68-37.
The Digicel side, which featured Matila Waqanidrola, Taraima Mitchell, Alesi Waqa and Nina Cirikisuva defeated Singapore 61-47.
Coach Kate Carpenter says the players have learnt a great deal throughout the series to help in their preparations for the Pacific Games as well as the Netball World Cup.
“It was a hard-fought win for us. Singapore played very well and there weren’t a lot of errors from their game so their accuracy across shooting was very good as well. So it was a really good contest and a good test for us.
From tomorrow, the squad will undergo conditioning session s to improve their fitness.”
A trial will be held on May 9th to select a national squad for the Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea in July.
